Preparing for Camp KIPP DC
We are so excited to have you join us at Camp KIPP DC this summer! The suggested packing list below will help give you an idea of what will be important to consider when packing for camp. You may also click here to view and print the packing list. Here are a few other packing recommendations:
The weather in Carlisle, Pennsylvania during the summer has an average high temperature of 83 degrees fahrenheit and an average low temperature of 62 degrees fahrenheit.
Please note, campers should bring their own water bottle to camp this summer.
Please don’t buy all new items—campers will be running around, getting dirty, and spending a lot of time outdoors. Laundry is done in bulk and lights and darks are not separated.
Please write your camper’s full name in/on all items using permanent marker. Laundry is done in bulk for the whole camp.
Please note that we will provide your camper with one camp t-shirt.

Protocol for all medications:
The following is the protocol for all prescription and over-the-counter medications:
Please document any medication that your camper needs to take while at camp in the Health History Form in your CampInTouch account. This includes prescribed over-the-counter medications and any prescription medications.
Please bring all medications in their original container to the bus pick-up location. If medications are prescribed by a doctor, they must be in a prescription-labeled container with the doctor/pharmacist instructions visible. Labels must be undamaged and readable.
All medication containers must be placed in a clear Ziploc bag with your camper’s full name clearly labeled on it in permanent marker. Please place any medications that your camper needs administered the first night of camp in a second, separate Ziploc bag that is also clearly labeled with their full name.
All medications will be collected by a designated camp team member at your bus pick-up location or upon your arrival to camp. Campers cannot carry their own medications with them, including over-the-counter medications. All medications must be stored in the Health Center.
Please only send medications to camp that you have designated in your camper’s Health History Form.
Camp does not provide EpiPens for campers. If your camper has an allergy that requires an EpiPen, please note that you need to send your camper with their own EpiPen labeled in his/her medication bag.
If you have any questions related to the packing list and/or do not feel you will be able to supply some of the items listed above, please reach out directly to Tony Wong, Camp Director, at tony@campkippdc.org.
