Introducing: Camp KIPP DC, Mastermind’s Summer Experience

This summer, Camp KIPP DC will partner with KIPP DC Schools to run the afternoon portion of KIPP DC’s Masterminds Summer Experience! We are excited to bring the joy and culture of Camp KIPP DC to your school campuses this summer.

Camp Dates & Information:

  • Team Orientation: June 16 - 20

  • Camp Program: June 23 - July 18 (Monday through Friday)

  • Pay: $7,500

    The Site Director is the primary leader at each Camp KIPP DC campus, responsible for overseeing all aspects of day camp operations, program execution, and team supervision. This role ensures the highest-quality experience for campers and team members by balancing programmatic leadership, logistical coordination, and team development. The Site Director is accountable for the daily functioning of their campus, ensuring that activities run smoothly, transitions are seamless, and all team members uphold the values and expectations of Camp KIPP DC. The Site Director reports directly to the Camp Director and collaborates with leadership staff to execute an engaging and well-structured summer program.

    The Site Director plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, structured, and joyful experience for both campers and team at Camp KIPP DC. This position requires a dynamic leader who is both hands-on and visionary, able to balance operations, program management, and team leadership to create an exceptional summer experience.

  • Pay: $5,000

    The Head of Operations is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of all logistics, scheduling, and operational functions at a Camp KIPP DC site. This role is critical in supporting the Site Director by managing the behind-the-scenes elements that allow camp programming to run effectively. The Head of Operations  oversees daily logistics, resource coordination, supply management, and facility operations, ensuring a structured, efficient, and well-supported day camp experience for both campers and team.

  • Pay: $5,000

    Head Counselors are responsible for the team and ensuring all team members feel physically and emotionally supported. They hold the team accountable to their roles and responsibilities and evaluate the team throughout the summer to support them as needed.

  • Pay: $5,000

    The Head of Camper Support leads efforts to create an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for all campers, with a focus on those requiring additional guidance. This role ensures each camper’s positive experience by providing individualized care, fostering effective communication, and modeling best practices in camper well-being and behavior management. The Head of Camper Support works closely with the Head Counselor, Counselors, and Activity Counselors to coordinate a unified approach to camper care.

  • Pay: $4,000

    Activity Counselors serve as key members of the camp team members and participate in professional development training during team orientation and team meetings. The Activity Counselor plays a crucial role in each camper's experience by planning and facilitating activities that encourage campers to develop deeper levels of independence, curiosity, responsibility and confidence.  Activity Counselors partner with Group Counselors to support campers when they are not leading an Activity or Elective block.  Activity Counselors report directly to the Head Counselor and Site Director.

  • Pay: $2,500

    Group Counselors serve as key members of the camp team members and participate in professional development training during team orientation and team meetings. The primary responsibility of a Group Counselor is to manage a group of campers each day as they participate in various activities and program areas. Group Counselors are responsible for campers’ physical and emotional safety and must ensure that campers feel supported. They ensure that campers participate in all activities, make lasting friendships, and build independence, curiosity, confidence, and creativity. Group Counselors report directly to the Head Counselor and Site Director.
